Traffic stop leads to pot find

STURBRIDGE, (AP) — A New York man who was pulled over for speeding in Massachusetts is facing drug charges after 36 pounds of marijuana was found in his SUV, police said.

State police say a trooper pulled over Shui Tim Louie of Elmhurst, N.Y., on Interstate 84 in Sturbridge just before 10 p.m. Wednesday.

A search of his vehicle with the aid of a police dog uncovered 36 pounds of what authorities think is marijuana.

Louie was arrested and charged with possession of a Class D substance. He was also issued civil citations for speeding and a marked lanes violation.

He was scheduled to be arraigned yesterday in Dudley District Court.
