Mr. Nicholi W. Savchuk, age 84, of Lynn, died Saturday morning in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. He was the former husband of Dorothy (Stratton) Savchuk.
Born in Ukraine, he was the son of the late Theodor and Eva (Zacarchuk) Savchuk. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and later graduated from Northeastern University. He enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during World War II.
Prior to his retirement in 1978, he spent over 25 years as owner and operator of Fred’s Tire Company on Boston St.
He leaves his children, Sonya J. Savchuk-Becton, Carla N. Savchuk and Frank T. Savchuk, all of Lynn. He was the Grandfather of Marshall, Jason and Jaimee and the Great-Grandfather of Izaiah. Also survived by his nephew, Roy Marsters.
