Phyllis L. Mitchell, 88


DANVERS — Phyllis L. Mitchell, 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Saturday, January 11, at Hathorne Hill Health Care in Danvers. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Raymond S. and Lucy L. (Peabody) Viles.

Phyllis grew up in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School. She went on to graduate from the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing. Phyllis was passionate about her career as an obstetrical nurse. She enjoyed being able to care for mothers and newborn babies. Phyllis also loved knitting and being in her garden.

She is survived by three children, Susan Denley and her husband, John, of Readsboro, Vt., Charles Mitchell and his wife, Debbie, of Cumberland, R.I., and Glen Mitchell of North Conway, N.H.; one sister, Sandra Krajewski and her husband, Thomas, of Newton, N.H.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews. She is predeceased by her two brothers, Raymond and Edward Viles.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held at the Second Congregational Church, 35 Conant St., Beverly, on Wednesday, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., North Beverly, on Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in North Beverly Cemetery.
