Lynn — Mr. Edward W. Cooper, age 69, lifelong resident of Lynn, died Monday, November 5, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Mooney) Cooper.
Born and raised in Lynn, Eddie was the son of the late PFC Guy and Grace (Derby-Cooper) Moholland. In 1947 in a children’s contest he was voted as the “King of Lynn”. Eddie graduated from St. Mary’s Boys High School Class of 1961. He honorably served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. After his honorable discharge he was employed with Nissan Bakery for 29 years until his retirement in 2003. Eddie was very active in the Teamsters Union as a Shop Steward. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan and also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods.
Eddie is survived by his children, Susan Barry and husband Peter of Lynn, Barbara Tardiff of Wilmington, Guy Cooper of Haverhill and Wendy Dimitrakopoulos of Peabody, siblings, Shirley Ciafardoni of Lynn, Norma Beaupre and husband William of NH, Donna Estes and husband Chick of Lynn and David Moholland and wife Sarah of Danvers. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Eddie was predeceased by his sister Joyce Alley and her husband Paul.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, on Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church, 26 Bessom Street, Lynn, at 10 AM. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours in the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
