Shirley J. Burke, 84


Danvers — Shirley J. (MacFarlane) (Crosman) McRae, 84, of Hamilton, died peacefully at Essex Park Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness, with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Keith F. Burke.

Born in Salem on January 22, 1928, she was the daughter of Hazel B. (Wilson) and Vaughn R. MacFarlane. Shirley was a graduate of Salem High School and worked as a waitress at Friendly's and Murphy's in Danvers. She was a Past Worthy Matron; Order of Eastern Star, Mt. Burnett Chapter in Danvers. Shirley enjoyed many hours spent with her family and friends. She leaves her devoted partner, Bob McRae and her two daughters, Linda (Crosman) Hickman and her husband Boe of New Hampshire and Karen (Crosman) Alexander and her husband Jim of Danvers; grandchildren, Heather Morrissette, Corey Cunningham and Eric and Matthew Alexander; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Adam Morrissette. In addition she leaves several nieces and nephews and many other grand- and great-grandchildren from her extended family with Bob. Shirley was predeceased by her three brothers, Raymond, James and Gerald MacFarlane and her infant great-grandson, Raymond Morrissette. The family greatly appreciates the loving care Shirley received while living at the Essex Park Nursing Home in Beverly.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relative and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Monday morning from 9:30 to noon in the Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St., Danvers.
