Ray was an active gardener and created beautiful flower gardens and highly productive vegetable gardens. He enjoyed woodworking and took up running after retirement. He ran races as a member of the North Shore Striders well into his eighties and completed the Falmouth Road Race a number of times; in 1999, his successful Falmouth run occurred less than one year after triple bypass surgery. Many beginning runners have benefited from his guidance and encouragement.
Ray Frost’s life exemplified responsible community citizenship. He is survived by his children, William R. Frost of Ipswich; his daughter, Charlotte A. Feierman of Westtown, Pa.; his daughter, Jane K. Frost of Sandwich; and his sister, Betty Stoughton of Wellfleet. He also leaves four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Burial is private, for family members only. A celebration of Ray’s life, open to all, will be held in conjunction with a Bean Supper at the Second Congregational Church in North Beverly at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, in Fellowship Hall.
