Salem, MA — Mrs. Maria A. (Gutierrez) Minaya, 63, of Salem, beloved wife of Humberto Minaya, died Saturday morning, April 13, 2013, at Salem Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born in the Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Lora) Gutierrez. She was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to the United States more than 45 years ago. She resided in New York and has been a resident of the City of Salem since 1979.
Mrs. Minaya had been employed at Parker Brothers as an assembler for eight years until the time of her retirement.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Maria was a long time member of the catholic community and the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her loving husband of 48 years, Maria is survived by her daughter, Delaida Minaya, of Salem, her son, Humberto Minaya Jr., of Cape Cod, her 13 grandchildren, her six great grandchildren, her sisters, Maria Rosa, of Salem, and Maria Selsa, of Salem, her brothers, Ramon Gutierrez, of Salem and Felix Gutierrez, of Salem, and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, Wednesday, April 17 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Her burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours will be at The O'Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq.
