Audrey (Ainsworth) (Bunten) Citroni Adler, 81


Danvers — Audrey M. (Ainsworth) (Bunten) Citroni Adler, 81, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the loving wife of the late Stuart Adler and the late John Bunten.

Born in Beverly on Nov. 30, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Bernice (Phelps) Ainsworth. She was raised in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School. She graduated from the former Beverly Hospital School of Nursing and furthered her nursing education at Boston University and Salem State College.

For 32 years, she was a clinical specialist in psychology for the Mass. Dept. of Public Health. A 21-year resident of Las Vegas, Audrey worked in a substance abuse clinic where she treated many patients and wrote grants for the continued success of the program.

A long-time Beverly resident, she was a wonderful cook who enjoyed Bingo, gardening, crocheting, and estate shows.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Phillip and Cheryl Bunten of New Gloucester, Maine, David and Maria Bunten of Reading, Cheryl and William Hassell of Katy, Texas, Sandra Bunten and Michael Saia of Danvers, and Cindy and Richard A. Glazier of Danvers; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marion Ainsworth of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a sister-in-law, Alice Ainsworth of New Mexico. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Ainsworth.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Sylvan Street, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
