Marjorie G. Prescott, 99


Wenham — Mrs. Marjorie G. (Patch) Prescott, 99, beloved wife of the late Norman F. Prescott, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 3, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin A. and Anna Townsend (Gray) Patch. She attended the Museum School of Fine Arts Boston and graduated from Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists in 1933.

Throughout her life, she was active in her community and was a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, longtime member of the Singing Beach Club of Manchester by the Sea, a former member of the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead for fifty years and was also an avid skier for over 40 years.

Surviving her are two daughters, Althea P. Cranton and her husband, Jonathan, of Wenham and Paula P. Hart of Hilton Head, S.C.; three grandchildren, Hannah Cranton of Wenham, Andrea Hart and Prescott Hart both of Telluride, Colo, and two nieces. She was also the sister of the late Ruth Cole.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 9 Dane Street, Beverly (downtown location) Tuesday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. As requested there will be no visiting hours. Burial will be private.
