Peabody — Mrs. Regina I. (Keefe) Blanchard, 90, of Peabody, died on Saturday evening in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late John H. Blanchard, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.
Born in Mansfield, Regina, was the daughter of the late George and Ruth I. (Dooley) Keefe. She attended Lynn schools and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1942.
Prior to her retirement in 1988, she worked for over 25 years in the circulation department of the Lynn Item. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church. Regina was very active in the Peabody Senior Center and was a member of the Peabody Golden Age. She also volunteered at the Peter Torigian Community Center. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, and more recently, had spear-headed a care package drive to support her grandson’s Coast Guard unit in Kuwait.
She leaves two children, Noreen R. Blanchard of Danvers, and Lawrence J. Blanchard and his wife, Carol, of Danvers. She was grandmother to Tara and Shawn Blanchard; and the great-grandmother to Addison. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Regina’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffee-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Wednesday, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
