Salem, MA — Fernande (Norbert) Tremblay, 92, wife of the late Roger Joseph Tremblay, formerly of Albion Street, Salem, and more recently of Boxford, died early on Sunday morning, December 15, 2013, at Masconomet Health Care, Topsfield, Mass., following a lengthy illness.
Born in Quebec, Canada, one of nine children, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elise (LeVeille) Norbert. She attended local schools in Quebec, Canada. Following her marriage to her late husband in 1945, they moved to Albion Street, Salem. Once she became acclimated to the area, she became employed for several years by the former Carusso Coiffures in Danvers.
Her favorite time of the year was the holidays, and being around her family. She was dedicated to her faith, and often participated in song in the choir loft of St. James Church, Salem.
She is survived by a son, Norman Tremblay of Boston; two daughters, Claire Tremblay of Salisbury, Mass., and Pauline Leighton of Boxford; four brothers, who still reside in Canada; and a grandson, Brian Tremblay of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 21, at 10 a.m., in St James Church, 156 Federal Street, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday, from 3 to 6 p.m., in the Murphy Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
