Frederick J. Gallagher, 70


Haverhill — Frederick J. Gallagher, 70, of Haverhill, and formerly of Beverly, died on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill. Born on March 5, 1943, he was the son of the late George W. and Bridget (Cloherty) Gallagher. Born and educated in Beverly, and a long time Beverly resident, he worked for the City of Beverly for 38 years with the DPW Department, before retiring in 1999. Fred was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Beverly and the Beverly Football Boosters. He was an avid Beverly High School sports fan, who also love to go fishing, and spend time with his family.

Fred is survived by his sister, Mary Ward of Londonderry, N.H.; his brother, Thomas Gallagher and his wife, Donna, of Haverhill; a sister-in-law, Jackie Gallagher of Beverly; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, George P. Gallagher, who died in July.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 9 Dane St., Beverly, downtown location, on Wednesday, January 8, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours are Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
