She worked hard for many years and advanced in the restaurant business to support her and her daughter as a single parent. She did very well serving the customers, who all enjoyed her wit and efficiency. She worked for many years at the Chase House in Salem, the Weather Vane Tavern in Hamilton, Lewis’ Restaurant in Ipswich, and later she became general manager of the Goat Hill Grille in Beverly, Mass.
More recently, in the past five years, Cathy worked at The Rowley Pharmacy after successfully passing the State of Massachusetts Pharmaceutical Technologist exam. In this position, she was able to obtain donations of medical supplies to support mission work in the Dominican Republic.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be visiting hours and a memorial service at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., corner of North Street, Salem, from 2 to 6 p.m., on Saturday January 11.
