In retirement, he and his wife moved to Hudson, Florida, then Port Richey, Florida and later to Santa Fe, New Mexico before moving back to Peabody.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Smyrnios; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Barbara Smyrnios of Peabody; a daughter, Diana Rawding of Brookfield, Conn.; his step-children, David Grimes of Odenton, Md., Arthur Grimes of Port Charlotte, Fla., and John Grimes of Kelowna, BC, Canada; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and one great-stepgrandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was the former husband of the late Genevieve K. (Dziewguc) Smyrnios.
