Peabody — Mr. David Ward Rodgerson, 70, of Peabody, died December 31, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Robert and Ardis (Foster) Rodgerson. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of the former Holten High School. He continued his education and attended Northeastern University.
An honorably discharged veteran, Dave served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Air Force.
Dave had been employed for 33 years with EG&G where he had been a senior technician, managing his own production line. During that time, Dave had also been employed at the Danversport Yacht Club for 13 years as a function manager. Most recently, David had been employed with John M. Ross & Sons of Danvers as an office manager and by Mobile Home Estates of Peabody as the park manager. In addition, Dave also provided client support services for North Shore Elder Services.
Dave was known for his hard work and dedication to the task at hand, faithfulness and compassion. After being diagnosed with cancer 20 years ago, he managed his disability and modified his life and work needs to remain independent. He found great satisfaction in his work and his interaction with others.
Dave loved his friends, vacations, holidays, dining out and rollercoaster rides. A resident of the City of Peabody since 1986, David was a loving brother and friend who will be deeply missed.
Dave is survived by his brother, Gerald R. Rodgerson of Exeter, N.H.; his sister, Carol R. Rodgerson of Oregon; his uncle and aunt, Ronald and Pricilla Foster of Danvers; his lifelong friends, Donald W. Berube and family, Ashlie Berube, Millie Gagnon and family, Thomas and Peggie Allain and the late Lynda Allain and family. He is also survived by his former wife, Jane Bennett.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common), Salem, Saturday, January 11, at 11:15 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers.
