Beverly — Dorene Soundis, 58, passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, November 25. A longtime resident of Beverly, Dorene was born on August 31, 1955, and was the daughter of Chester Soundis and the late Angelina (Parisella) Soundis.
She is survived by her father Chester A. Soundis and his companion, Vivian Hislop of Wenham; a sister, Marion Soundis of Lynn; and a brother, William Soundis and his wife, Christina, of Lynn; by several nieces and nephews; and her very special friend, Carol Martin and her husband, Peter.
Dorene was a graduate of Beverly High School and North Shore Community College. Her employment over the years included secretarial and receptionist jobs, but she enjoyed her work at Nichols Candy of Gloucester, and was currently employed at Gordon College. Her hobbies were multiple, including quilting, reading, and board and computer games. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Canasta with her many beloved friends. An avid cook, she also enjoyed making great dishes and shared them willingly.
Her devotion to family and friends, as well as her desire to pass on her mother’s recipes to family members, will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
