Beverly and Ellsworth, Maine — Eleanor Field Harrington died peacefully on March 10 at Courtland Living Center in Ellsworth, Maine. She was born at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Boston on December 6, 1913, to Louise Hansen Field and Ellis J. Field.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband John H. Harrington, and by her sisters, Mary Burns and Dorothy Dwyer and their husbands, Joseph and Melvin; her brother, Ellis Field and his wife Ann; son-in-law Andrew Schneider. She is survived by brother Charles Field and wife Florita; son Michael and wife Nancy; daughter Eleanor; and grandchildren, Aaron and Adam Schneider; and great-grandchild Ryan Schneider.

She attended Roxbury Memorial High School and graduated from Massachusetts College of Art. She worked for many years as the commercial artist at Cambridge Paper Box Company. She was very active at St. Mary's Church in Beverly and involved in the lives of the children and grandchildren of her dear friends, Dorothy and Frank Porter and Ann and Bob Englehardt. She had a bright, sunny personality, loved doing water aerobics at the Beverly Y, and always enjoyed being with her friends from the old Montserrat neighborhood.

ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held in the spring in Beverly. Contributions in Ellie's memory may be made to Robert and Mary's Place, 50 Meadowview Lane, Suite 35, Ellsworth, ME 04605, where she volunteered and later attended adult day care.
