Beverly, MA — Irene T. (Lebel) Bean, 86, of Beverly and formerly of Danvers, died March 18, 2013, in Bradenton, FL. She was the wife of the late Joel N. Bean.
Born in Salem, MA, Irene was a 1943 graduate of Peabody High School.
She was a former Girl Scout leader, member of the Danvers Garden Club, a volunteer at both the Hunt Hospital and North Shore Music theater.
Most recently she has knit hundreds of baby hats, children's hats, scarfs and afghans for RSVP in Gloucester to be distributed to those in need on the North shore.
She was a member of Crossroads Quilters in Beverly, MA and enjoyed the company of other talented quilters.
She is survived by her daughter Judith and son-in-law Gerald Neitzel. Her son-in-law Anthony Hart. Her granddaughters, Laura Neitzel, Lynn McCarthy and her husband Daniel. Her great grandchildren, Hannah, Lily and Jacob McCarthy. Her sisters, Doris Santapaula and Beatrice Smith and her brother Ralph Lebel. Also leaving many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; Roul and Anna (O’Connor) Lebel and a loving son, Joel N. Bean II.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Saturday morning from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. in the Mackey Funeral Home, Conant St., Danvers.
