Jacob Dittrich, 89


Marblehead — Formerly of Marblehead and Swampscott, Jacob entered into rest on February 12, 2013, in Henderson, Nev. Jack was born in Revere, on March 13, 1923, to Max and Sarah (Roseberg) Dittrich, the youngest of eight children.

After service in the U.S. Army in World War II, Jack entered the dry cleaning business and was for many years the proprietor of Pekin Cleansers on Pleasant Street in Marblehead. He was an ardent fan of Marblehead High School football. In middle age he took up skiing and later in life worked to perfect his golf game.

He is survived by his loving companion of many years, Jane O’Brien; his children, Scott, Alan, Carl and Sandy; as well as, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 11:00 a.m., at the Gerry 5 VFA, 210 Beacon Street in Marblehead.
