Marblehead — Dwight L. Fulton Jr., 96, of Marblehead, passed away on March 20, 2013. He was the husband of the late, Florence (Broyer) Fulton, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late, Dwight L. and Evelyn (Thurston) Fulton Sr.
Raised and educated in Marblehead, he was a graduate of Marblehead High School. Dwight enlisted with the U.S. Navy serving with the Seabees during World War II in the Philippine and New Guinea Islands. He worked with his father as a painting contractor for Dwight L. Fulton and Sons in Marblehead for many years.
He was a member of the Philanthropic Masonic Lodge in Marblehead. Dwight spent time at the family cottage in Acton, Maine, where he was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was also an active member at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church in Marblehead.
He is survived by two sons, Mark J. Fulton and his significant other, Linda LeRoy of Marblehead, and Kelvin R. Fulton of Tewksbury; one granddaughter, Heather Marie Fulton of Grafton; and a cousin, Jeanne Fulton of Nova Scotia. He also leaves a niece and several nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, 67 Cornell Road, Marblehead on Tuesday, March 26, at 11 a.m. Interment with honors to follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held at Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, on Monday from 4-8 p.m. A Masonic service will begin at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dwight’s memory to St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, 67 Cornell Road, Marblehead, MA 01945.
