Arthur B. Courtney, Jr.


Lynn — Mr. Arthur B. Courtney, Jr., age 62, of Lynn, died suddenly on Saturday night in Union Hospital.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Arthur B. and Helen A. (Callahan) Courtney. He attended Lynn Schools, was a graduate of Lynn English High School and lived in Lynn his entire life.

Arthur spent the last 22 years as machinist for the Samtan Co. in Malden, previously working for Solnor Co. in Lynn. In earlier years, he was active in bowling and softball. He was a wonderful man who will be remembered as a great brother, uncle and companion.

He leaves his sister, Viola F. Slavin of Danvers and his longtime girlfriend, Amanda Silberstein of Lynn. He was the Uncle of Courtney and Michael Slavin and is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins.

ARRANGEMENTS: Arthur’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Wednesday at 6:00PM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private.
