John R. Cuttle, 72


BEVERLY — John “Papa Jack” Cuttle, 72, beloved husband of the late Bernadette (Laverdiere) Cuttle, with whom he had shared 39 years of marriage, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, August 20. Born in Fall River, Jack moved to Beverly when he was ten years old. He was the son of the late John and Angela (Martin) Cuttle.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1958. He was employed by the United Shoe Machinery Corporation and then Resco Energy System in Saugus as a supervisor for 40 years until his retirement. Papa Jack, as he was affectionately known, was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed working in his yard and most of all spending time with his family. Papa Jack was the family rock and was loved unconditionally. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving him are his two children, Stephanie Cuttle and her significant other, Dan Gallagher, of North Andover, and Michael Cuttle of Saugus; his granddaughter, Christina Cuttle of Beverly; and his beloved dog, Rosie. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Patricia Cuttle and Madeline Sousa.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Celebration of Papa Jack’s Life will be held at the family home in Beverly on Saturday at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be held privately.
