Philip J. Ring, 62


BEVERLY — Philip J. Ring 62, loving husband of Page (Greene) Ring, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage, passed away on August 26, after a courageous 12-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Margaret (Ryan) and Leo Ring.

Phil was a lifelong resident of Beverly, and a graduate of the Claude H. Patton Trade School, Class of 1969. He started his work life as a master carpenter, moved on as an accomplished engineer at the Axcelis Corporation, where he was employed for 30 years, ending life as a master model maker. During his 30 years at Axcelis Corporation, Phil received six patents pertaining to ion implantation.

Phil was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and a wonderful friend to many. He will truly be missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Sean Ring and his wife, Jamie, of Watertown, and Kelly (Ring) Stapleton and her husband, Jim, of Beverly.; two grandchildren, Sheamus and Liam Stapleton, and one grandchild that will be arriving in January; a sister, Beth Marshall and her husband, David, of Salem; a brother, Michael Ring and his wife, Olga, of Jacksonville, Fla.; along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Larry Ring.

For the past 12 years, Phil ferociously dealt with his multiple Myeloma, inspiring those around him with his dignity and bravery. Phil’s family would like to especially thank Dr. Arthur Rabinowitz , the nurses and the staff at Lahey Clinic in Peabody for all their wonderful care and support. A special Thank You to his nurse Ellie.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch Street, Beverly on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly on Wednesday from 4 to 8P.M. Burial will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
