Philip C. Pitman, 91


Topsfield — Philip C. Pitman, 91, passed away on September 11, 2013, in Twin Oaks Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Jane E. (Farrington) Pitman.

Born in Peabody on October 5, 1921, he was the son of the late Stanwood and Kate C. (Crosby) Pitman. Philip was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School and was a member of the Holten Royal Arch Chapter. He had been a resident of Topsfield for over 65 years. Philip was very active within his community as a member of the Topsfield Grange and also the Mt. Burnet Eastern Star Lodge. Philip was a machinist and had been employed in various machine shops on the North Shore.

He is survived by his son, Paul S. Pitman of Topsfield and a grandson, Seth G. Pitman of Topsfield.
