Jean Rogers Duval, formerly of West Hartford, Conn., wife of David Paul Duval, finally rested in peace on January 31, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
She was born in Newton. She had degrees from Wheelock College in Boston, and Central Connecticut State University. She married her husband of almost 60 years in 1952. Jean taught in West Hartford, Conn., for 26 years. She was an active member of the church of St. Helena, West Hartford Belles, life member of several educational associations, and served on the board of the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary.
Jean and her husband moved to Brooksby Village in Peabody in 2007. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Deborah L. Smyth of Mulberry, Ark., and Nancy Jean Rudder of Boxford; a son Robert Paul Duval of Rocky Hill, Conn.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grand-children.
ARRANGEMENTS: In fulfillment of her wishes her body has been donated to the UMass Medical School. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother, loving teacher and generous grandmother.
