Emma S. Adams, 102


Beverly — Emma J. (Schwollman) Adams died on January 26, at Ledgewood Skilled Nursing in Beverly, at the age of 102. Born to Latvian immigrants on March 6, 1911, in Jamaica Plain, she was the daughter of the late William and Lihsa (Brashe) Schwollman. She was the wife of the late George Bellinger and the late Myron W. Adams. She grew up and attended school in Jamaica Plain. Emma spent most of her adult life in West Falmouth, where she was the proprietor of a rooming house, and then worked in the West Falmouth Post Office for many years. She enjoyed gardening and cared lovingly for many pets through her life. Emma is survived by a niece, Priscilla Hockman of New York; great nieces and nephew, Patricia Dube of Beverly, who looked after her in her final years, Eileen Young of Salem, Debbie Hoffman of California, Lynette Zappulla of New York, Lisa Aman of South Carolina, Matthew Brown of Florida, and Valerie Goodman of Virginia. She was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth McCallum, Emily Kunz; and a brother, Alexander Schwollman.

ARRANGEMENTS: A private service will be held at a time when the family can gather to celebrate her life.
