Sheryle A. "Sherry" Whittier

Beverly — Miss Sheryle A. “Sherry” Whittier, 55, of Beverly died Wednesday at the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a lengthy illness.

Sherry was born in Lynn, daughter of Raymond J. and Shirley (Smith) Whittier, of Beverly. She was a resident of Beverly for the past year and previously resided in Lynn. She was a graduate of St. Pius V Grammar School, Lynn English High school, Class of 1975, Lynn Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1978. Sherry also attended Salem State University.

Sherry was a Registered Nurse. She worked at the former Lynn Hospital, as well as many local clinics and Salem Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing Alumni and the Medjugorje Prayer Group.

In addition to her parents, Sherry is survived by three brothers, Raymond Whittier of Stratham, N.H., Daniel Whittier of Stratham, N.H., and Mark Whittier of Beverly; four sisters, Denise Benevento of Stratham, N.H., Mary Jean Raimo of Beverly, Paula Funk of Ashford, Conn. and Christine Morganelli of Lynn, She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves her dog, Sparky.

ARRANGEMENTS: Sherry’s funeral will be from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Pius V Church at 10:30 a.m.. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Sherry’s memory be made to St. Mary’s Church Food Pantry 8 So.
