Sun City Center, Fla. — Mrs. Ruth H. (Ekenbarger) Kennedy, 83, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Danvers, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, after a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of the late Leon D. Kennedy.
Ruth was born in Hartford, Conn., daughter of the late Ray and Barbara (Dart) Ekenbarger. She was a resident of Danvers for many years before moving to Florida.
Ruth’s true devotion was spending time with her family and many friends. She was an avid golfer.
She was the loving mother to John D. “Jackie” Kennedy and his signifigant other, Ildiko Jolly of Sun City Center, Fla., Leon D. Kennedy and his wife, Lenore of Beverly and Barbara A. Jeski and her husband, Donald of Concord, N.H. She was the sister of John Ekenbarger of Nashua, N.H., Barbara Maud, William Ekenbarger, Emily Cutler and Bruce Ekenbarger all of Connecticut. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Juanita Simons, Ray Ekenbarger, Maggie Pain, Eunice Malone and Del Ekenbarger.
ARRANGEMENTS: Ruth’s funeral services will be in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Thursday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation period will be Thursday, from 9 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Gifts in her memory may be made to any local Hospice Foundation.
