Marblehead — Vincent J. Duggan, 89, of Marblehead, passed away on January 8, 2013. He was the husband of Emeline (McCune) Duggan with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Dennis P. and Anna (Lyons) Duggan. He was the father of the late Dennis P. Duggan of Gloucester.
Raised and educated in Somerville, he was a graduate of Somerville High School, class of 1942. Vincent was the owner of Duggan Ice and Fuel in Boston, and Ocean Fuel on the North Shore for many years. After his retirement, he and his wife traveled to over thirty countries. They especially enjoyed their many trips to Maui.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Duggan is survived by his daughter-in-law, Carol Clark of Gloucester; a nephew, Walter A. Costello Jr. of Swampscott; and four nieces, Katherine A. Dusombre of Florida, Denise McKee of Woburn, Joyce (Duggan) Driscoll of Reading, and Diane Canty of Marblehead. He was the brother of the late, Mary Costello, Neil P. Duggan, Dennis E. Duggan, and John L. Duggan.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead, on Saturday, January 12, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visitation will be held at the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, on Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vincent’s memory to the charity of your choice.
