Ivadell (Folk) George, 87


Peabody — Ivadell (Ivy) George, died January 3, 2013, at the age of 87. Ivy was born in 1926 in Pouce Coupe, British Columbia. She was one of three children of the late Albert and Florence Folk.

Ivy met her late husband, Arnold George in London, England in 1955 and was married on December 8, 1956. They were married for over 55 years. Ivy enjoyed cooking, traveling and reading and was fond of animals. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1938 and spent over 70 years volunteering her time in providing free home Bible Studies.

Ivy worked as a clerk on the railroad for many years and retired while living in Albany, N.Y. She and her husband moved to Massachusetts to care for an elderly relative.

Ivy lived a life of giving to others and deeply appreciated all the help she received from others. Even though she had a quiet personality, she was a very compassionate person and had a good sense of humor.

ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 79 Endicott St., Peabody, on January 19 at 1:30 p.m., to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
