Jupiter, Fla. — Alojzy Frank Piecewicz of Jupiter, Fla., passed away at Palm Beach County Hospice on September 2, 2012. Born in Salem on May 29, 1917, son of the late Frank and Josephine (Falkowski) Piecewicz and nicknamed “Pat” as a boy. Graduated from Salem High 1935 and joined the Navy in 1943, serving on aircraft carrier USS Fanshaw Bay during World War II. Joined Beverly Police Dept in 1945 and appointed Sgt. in 1953. He served for 39 years and retired in 1982.
Survived by Rose (Maglio) Piecewicz, his loving and devoted wife of 72 years. They settled in Beverly before moving to Jupiter in 1989. He also enjoyed taking walks, golfing and visiting Aruba. Remembered by his son, Alan Piecewicz and wife, Barbara of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; grandchildren, Barry Piecewicz and Rebecca of Merrimac, Kevin Piecewicz and Lisa of Sykesville, Md., Kristen Guilmette and Craig of Salisbury; great-grandchildren, Keenan and Courtney Guilmette, Cameron, Charles, Luke, Olivia and Ryan Piecewicz. Preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and John and sister Anastacia Savlon. His surviving brother, Edmund, lives in Dunedin, Fla.
