Beverly — Mr. Warren F. Powers passed away on Friday at the Beverly Hospital, he was 89. Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late Howard L. and Catherine L. (McCauley) Powers. Mr. Powers was self-employed and worked alongside his brother manufacturing shoe dyes. An honorably discharged veteran, he served honorably in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Yorktown at the battle of Midway. The beloved husband of Virginia (Colacey) Powers, the couple celebrated 68 years of marriage together.
In addition to his wife Virginia; he is survived by his daughters: Kathleen Powers of Beverly and Polly LeBlanc and her husband Ron of Danvers; his grandchildren: Shellie Fisher and her husband Cory, Scott Shairs and his wife Kate, Eric Shairs and Amy Gilman and her husband Glen; great-grandchildren: Zoe, Owen, Noah, Cala, Presley, Matthew, Addison, Quinton, Madeline and Stella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Powers was predeceased by his brother Norman and sisters: Ethel Scalzillo and Betty Parker.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, on Tuesday, Jan. 15th, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held (Today) Monday in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, location from 4pm to 7pm. Services will conclude with burial and military honors at St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly.
