Danvers, MA — Edward P. Foley Jr., 82, of Danvers and formerly of Holbrook, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody. He was the husband of Frances (Obery) Foley with whom he shared fifty-seven years of marriage.
Born in Dorchester in 1930, Edward was the son of Edward and Bridget (Sullivan) Foley Sr. He graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School and went on to work at Boston Five Cents Savings Bank for forty-six years as a Bank Manager and Assistant Treasurer.
Edward served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Ed was an active member of the Thomas E. Power Council #1505, KofC where he served as Grand Knight, a member of the Danvers Kiwanis where he served as Lt. Governor, an active town meeting member in Danvers and town meeting member and finance committee member in Holbrook., a communicant of St. Richard Parish in Danvers and a former member of the Holy Name Society in Holbrook, MA.
Mr. Foley was an avid bowler, enjoyed camping and spending time at the family cottage on Newfound Lake. He especially enjoyed traveling to Aruba.
Besides his wife Frances, Mr. Foley leaves his children; Michael P. Foley and his wife Alison Jayne of Hanover, Paul E. Foley and his wife Holly of Atkinson, NH, John F. Foley and his wife Laura of Novi, Michigan and Karen A. Raso and her husband Gary of Wakefield. Also leaving his siblings; Sr. Mary Foley, John and Francis Foley, his loving grandchildren; Jessica, Andrew, Ryan, Alissa , Maria Foley and Charlie and Jillian Raso. Along with several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Tuesday from 5-8pm in the Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St., Danvers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in St. Richard Parish, Danvers. Burial in Annunciation cemetery, Danvers.
