Alvin Wayne Goss, 79

Peabody — Passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem, MA. following a long illness.

Mr. Goss, "Al" to his friends and family, was born and raised in Everett on Woodville Street. Al was the son of the late Joseph and Adelaide (Perry) Goss and brother of the late Leslie Goss. He was a graduate of Everett High School, class of 1954.

Al lived in Malden with the love of his life, best friend and wife of 43 years, the late Lynda (Bailey) Goss and her daughter, Kimberly (Foley) Mercer many years. He was a Senior Lab Technician for most of his life at American Science and Engineering and then continuing in the same industry at Adcole Corporation in Marlborough. He then went on to be a delivery driver Foreign Auto Parts, locally and then retired.

Al's favorites past times were being with his family, house parties and backyard barbeques. He loved to sing and play the guitar and drums. Al was also a country singer for many years in various local country night clubs and was Master of Ceremonies at many Country and Western Jamborees, locally to raise money for different charities.

After his wife passed away in 1999, he moved to Peabody to be closer to his daughter.

Al leaves behind daughter, Kimberly (Foley) along with her husband, Robert and his grandsons, David and Joshua Mercer, all from Peabody. He also leaves behind from a previous marriage, sons, Greg and David Goss and daughter, Cheryl Goss; a niece, Althea (Goss) Santolucito and a nephew, Herbert "Brooks" Goss.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday, February 6, at 10 a.m. for a funeral Mass at the First United Methodist Church, 24 Washington Street in Peabody to honor and celebrate his life. Burial will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody following the Mass.
