EDGEWATER, FLA. — Clarence W. Silva (Pogo), 80, retired Peabody firefighter, passed away peacefully at the Voulsia Care Center in Edgewater, Fla., on January 27, 2013.
Clarence enjoyed his life in Florida as he had many friends there upon moving 15 years ago. Before joining the Fire Department as a firefighter, Clarence was a master carpenter.
Clarence was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Doris M. Silva, in 1997. Clarence is survived by his loving children: sons, Richard Silva of Beverly and Steven Silva of Danvers; daughter Brenda Martocchio of Peabody; his brother William Silva of Danvers; and sister Mary Dickenson of Peabody; six grandchildren, Ricky Silva, Christopher Silva, Sharna McNeill, Marci Silva, Stephanie LeBlanc and James Michael Gardner; several great-grandchildren; his wife in Florida, Helga McLaughlan Silva, and her children, Bettina and John McLaughlan; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial Mass to celebrate Clarence's life, will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 3 Margin Street, Peabody, on February 9 at 10 a.m. Friends and family are invited to attend.
