Gail Wendell, 62


Peabody, MA — Gail Frances (Devine) Wendell, age 62, of Peabody, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Philip Wendell, and the daughter of Rita (Hedges) Devine of Lynn, and the late Francis “Pat” Devine. Born and raised in Lynn, she was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1969. She moved to Peabody in 1974, with her husband Philip. Gail worked as a sales associate for Staples in Danvers and Joker's Wild in Peabody. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody. She was active with the Boy Scouts for almost twenty years. She was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. She accomplished with pride the Wood Badge as well as the Shu-Shuga Badge. She also enjoyed dining out, especially at Red’s in Salem, her grandchildren and most of all her life.

Besides her husband Phil and her mother Rita, Gail is survived by her two sons, Scott Wendell of Peabody and Lee Wendell of Peabody, her sister Sharon Tucker and her husband Marc of Newburyport, her brother James Devine of Dracut, and her beloved grandchildren Jack Thomas Wendell of Peabody, Diedre Marie Frances Wendell of Peabody and Summer Lilly Moriel of Lynn. She also leaves her two nieces Shaena and Danni, a nephew Ty Patrick and her mother-in-law Del Wendell. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Harold and Mary Wendell.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN & RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt129), Lynn, on Wednesday at 8AM, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody-Salem line, at 9AM. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 5-8PM. Directions & guest book www.solimine.com.
