Phyllis M. Bourgeois


Beverly — Mrs. Phyllis M. (Astles) Bourgeois, age 84, of Beverly, formerly of Peabody, died Monday at Beverly Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick L. Bourgeois.

Born in Waltham, Phyllis was the daughter of the late George H. and Theresa L. (Morris) Astles. As a young child, Phyllis’ family moved to Lynn where she was raised. She graduated from St. Mary’s High, Class of 1948.

Phyllis worked for Gooddard Bros. Department Store in the billing department and previously worked at the General Electric Company West Lynn. She was a former member of the GE West Lynn Entertainers and was active with the Peabody Senior Citizens. Phyllis was also a hostess for John F. Kennedy campaign.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Ernestine L. Jackson and her husband, Raymond, and Joan Bourgeois, all of Peabody. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Mrs. Bourgeois’ Funeral will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
