Jeannine Loranger, 92

Warren, PA — Jeannine Loranger, 92, of Warren, Pa. died peacefully Sunday morning, April 7, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born September 4, 1920, in Salem, Mass., to the late Alexander and Arthemise Roi Dion. She was a Warren-area resident since 1946, moving from Salem, Mass.

Jeannine was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church where she was a member of the Church Altar Rosary Society and the former Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of the Warren Women’s Club, Warren Garden Club, The Philomel Club, and the Conewango Valley Country Club. She is fondly remembered as a tremendous cook and the family has compiled a family cookbook with her recipes. She was an avid golfer and bridge player who enjoyed the pleasantry of competing with friends, where all were winners simply by participating.

When her husband started a business in the basement of their home on Warren’s Southside, Jeannine was his first press operator. Unfortunately, the very first mold overheated and was completely ruined, causing them both to cry on the basement steps. With much prayer and the luck of winning $500 at a St Joseph 50/50 raffle, they were able to rebuild the mold. This was the beginning of Loranger Manufacturing Corporation which employed up to 500 people in its peak years.

She is survived by her four sons, Albert Loranger, Jr. and his wife, Diane, George P. Loranger and his wife, Sue, of Budapest and Sarasota, Fla., Robert Loranger and his wife, Christine, of Woodland Hills, Calif., and John Loranger and his wife, Christine, of Warren, Pa.; a sister, Claire Belleau and her husband, Robert, of Warren, Pa.; grandchildren, Al III and Sheila Loranger, Ariane and Robert Dart, Steve and Erin Loranger, Danielle Loranger and Andy Saeli, Jeff and Klara Loranger, Rachelle and Sean Considine, Robert and Kate Loranger, Julia Loranger, Paul Loranger, Matt Loranger, Michael Loranger, Scott Loranger, and David Loranger; several step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Lilly Loranger, Lyndsey and Alex Dart, PJ and Will Loranger, Ava and Marley Peterson and George Saeli, Mila Loranger, Claire and Sophia Considine, and Trey and Preston Loranger; several step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Loranger, Sr., whom she married November 28, 1941, and who was the founder of Loranger Manufacturing Corporation; three brothers, Alexander Dion, Jr., Lionel Dion and Victor Dion; and one sister, Lucienne Tremble.
