Danvers, MA — James W. “Bill” Dolan, Jr., 75, died Friday, November 23, 2012, in his home. He was the loving husband of June A. (Carter) Dolan, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
Born in Salem on August 10, 1937, he was the son of the late Loretta (O’Connor) and James W. Dolan, Sr. He and June graduated from Salem High School in the Class of 1956. After two years in the Navy, he worked as a lineman for the Massachusetts Electric Company. After many years he then worked as the Distribution Manager of Marblehead Electric Light Department from where he retired in September, 1999. Bill loved taking day trips with June, attending his grandchildren’s events and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his daughter Kelly Newbegin and her husband Matthew of Danvers, his son Jeffery Dolan and his wife Tracy of North Attleboro, and his brother Peter Dolan and his wife, Jane of Danvers. Bill also leaves behind four grandchildren, whom they lovingly called “Umpa”: Brendan, Katherine, Harrison and Reilly.
