Marie Bailey Whiston, 86


Ipswich — Marie Bailey Whiston, 86, of Ipswich, MA, completed her life’s journey surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Born in Ipswich on August 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Corinne Bailey.

She shared 61 years of marriage with her husband Donald. Marie rejoiced in raising her six children with whom she shared and instilled her strong convictions for faith, honesty and loving kindness. She graciously opened her heart and warm and loving home to all. Her life was filled with laughter, love of nature, delight in cooking and creating special celebrations for many memorable occasions. All those touched by Marie were reminded of the value of meaningful daily living and the joy in sharing it with others.

Marie is survived by her husband Donald Whiston and their children: Wendy Whiston, Dawn Whiston, Kim Pickul and her husband David, Meg Whiston, Mark Whiston and his wife Eve, Paige Coleman and her husband Kip. Also survived by her 13 grandchildren: Paige, Erin, Greg, Connor, Cameron, Lindsey, Caitlin, Chris, Drew, Dane, Lee, Will and Katie Marie. Marie also cherished her many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are invited to celebrate Marie’s life on Friday, November 30th, at 11 A.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. In addition, visiting hours will be Thursday, November 29th, from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Ipswich. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie’s memory may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, 30 Jeffrey’s Neck Road, Ipswich, MA 01938.
