Beverly — Mr. Clinton W. Cashman, 88, beloved husband of the late M. Rita (Cooke) Cashman, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late John J. Cashman Sr. and Millie B. (Mitchell) Cashman. He graduated from Beverly High School and continued his education at the Bentley School of Accounting & Finance.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army where he was a Prisoner of War for four months before being liberated from Germany.
Mr. Cashman had been employed for 37 years as a banker for the former Shawmut Bank in Boston until the time of his retirement in 1984.
A lifelong resident of the City of Beverly, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Beverly, where he served as treasurer, for 43 years.
Surviving him are two sons, Richard Cashman and his wife, Dianne and Robert Cashman and his wife, Susan, two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Daniel Cashman all of Beverly, a brother, John J. Cashman Jr. and his wife, Diane of Danvers and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 221 Cabot St., Beverly, Monday, December 17, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 9 Dane Street, Beverly (downtown location), Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Burial in North Beverly Cemetery.
