Kathleen Brown, 90


Peabody — Kathleen E. Brown, 90, of Manchester, N.H. died December 14, 2012 at the Elliot Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen was born on October 6, 1922 in Gloucester.

She was the daughter of Paul and Almeida Tarr. After high school Kathleen worked for many years at General Electric in Lynn, where she met and later married Fredrick. Kathleen devoted the rest of her life raising their six children in their long-time home on Goodale St in Peabody. Kathleen was affectionately known as "Ma". She was a devout Christian, and deeply involved herself and the family with the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Peabody. She created everlasting family traditions while camping at White Lake State Park. Ma was a die-hard New England sports fan, especially the Red Sox. She enjoyed bingo, singing, listening to music, telling stories and spending time with her large and very close family.

She is survived by her four children; Gloria, Karen, Stephen and wife, Christine, and Jeanette; 12 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Fredrick; two children, Richard and Kathleen; and one grandson.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11 a.m., at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Peabody. A burial will follow at the Puritan Lawn Park Cemetery.
