Beverly — Dominic J. Sabino Jr., 79, beloved husband of Nancy E. (Gray-Bowes) Sabino, died on Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late Dominic J. Sr. and Margaret (Martin) Sabino.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Navy. He continued his military career as a member of the United States Army Reserve until his retirement in 1994.
Mr. Sabino had been employed for many years as a licensed blaster for Pelletier and Milbury Corporation in Danvers, until the time of his retirement.
He also worked as a third shift security guard for several different businesses on the North Shore.
A longtime resident of Beverly, he was a member of the V.F.W. Charles W. Davis Post 2359 in Danvers.
In addition to his wife, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage, he is survived by a daughter, Rosemarie Dahlstedt and her husband, Christopher, of Somerville; five stepchildren, Rita Bowes of Peabody, Thomas and Susan Bowes of Maine, Michael and Robin Bowes of Peabody, James Bowes of Beverly, and Mary-Ellen Bowes of Beverly; a granddaughter, Nancy Jeanne Bowes; four brothers, Roy and Jan of Topsfield, Louis of Newburyport, Frank and Tammy of Peabody, and Joseph of Peabody; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Margaret Fitiles, Rose O’Neill, Manuel, and John and Tony Sabino.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Wednesday, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in the North Beverly Cemetery.
