John A. Andruszkiewicz, 91


Salem — Mr. John A. Andruszkiewicz, 91, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in the North Shore Medical Center Salem Hospital, following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Kempa) Andruszkiewicz.

John was a lifelong resident of Salem, and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1941. Upon graduation, John enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during WWII, receiving several medals and commendations for his brave service. He remained in active Reserves, and served for a total of 39 years. After his return to Salem, John joined the Salem Police Department, and served his community as a police officer for 35 years, until retiring.

Surviving him is a brother, Reverend Albin Andrus of Portland, Maine; a sister, Theresa St. Pierre of Naples Fla.; a brother, Boleslaus Andruszkiewicz of Brentwood, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews.
