Beverly, MA — Reg Smith died peacefully at Ledgewood Rehabilitation on December 8. He was the husband of the late Nancy Rice and is survived by Joan Bowker, Reginald H.Smith III and Warren Smith. He had seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Reg was a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army in India during World War II. He was a longtime resident of Wenham. When he retired from a career in law and banking, he served as Wenham's treasurer.
Reg collected model trains. He loved being outdoors and walking. He was an avid reader and a movie enthusiast. He was gifted with an excellent mind, and when he lived at Herrick House, he excelled at playing trivia.
Reg was a warm man, who loved other people's company. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be a memorial service in the spring.
