Ipswich — Ruth B. (Connolly) Story, 82, wife of Lewis E. Story, died on Saturday nigh, December 21, 2013, in Beverly Hospital, after a short illness. Born in Salem on August 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Grimes) Connolly.
Mrs. Story was raised and educated in Salem. She and her husband were married on July 8, 1950, and had lived in Beverly for most of their married life. Mrs. Story worked as a practical nurse at both the Salem Hospital and the former Hunt Memorial Hospital in Danvers for several years. She was best known as the owner and operator of 4-Star Ceramics in North Beverly for over 15 years. Mrs. Story retired in the mid 1980s, she and her husband then moved to Ipswich where they have been residents ever since. She was a very active member of the senior centers in both Ipswich and Rowley. Mrs. Story was well known whereever she lived as an “artsy-craftsy” woman.
In addition to her husband, Lewis, of Ipswich, Mrs. Story is survived by her four sons, George Story of Gloucester, Paul Story and his wife, Linda, of Hollis, N.H., Thomas Story and Alan Story, both of Ipswich. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Sean, Scott and Venessa, Jacob and Alycia; her three great-grandchildren, Jaden and Julianna Rose, and Marilyn Ruth; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Story was also predeceased by her seven brothers and sisters.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 26, at 11 a.m., in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Ipswich. An hour of visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, from 10 a.m., until the time of the service in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be in the Spring Street Cemetery in Essex. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mrs. Story’s name to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01710.
