Charles F. Kiefer III, 63

Beverly Farms & Marblehead — Charles Frederick Kiefer III, of Beverly Farms and Marblehead, passed peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2013. He was the son of Lois Kiefer and the late Charles F. Kiefer Jr. Charlie was a graduate of Marblehead High School and earned his bachelor's and MBA degrees from Boston University. He was a very well respected certified public accountant, and a successful financial professional specializing in the advertising industry. He served as comptroller of Harold Cabot Corporation, CFO of Arnold Worldwide, and owner of CFK & Associates.

Charlie was raised in Marblehead, where he developed a lifelong love of the sea. He gave great joy to others by generously sharing his passions: cruising in his collector automobiles, yachting in the waters off his beloved hometown, Marblehead, and enjoying many sailing vacations with family and friends. One of his greatest pleasures was competing in many Newport-Bermuda and Marblehead-Halifax ocean races on his 81-foot, maxi yacht, Nirvana.

He will be fondly remembered for his devotion to his family, his wit and dry sense of humor. He had a love of history, trivia, quirky facts and storytelling, as well as an incredible knack for making every individual feel special.

He was adored, and will be deeply missed by his family, devoted partner, members of the Nirvana crew, colleagues, and countless friends.

Charlie is survived by his mother, Lois Kiefer; sister, Ginny Kiefer and her husband, Terry Longcor and their sons, Jeff, Mike and Rob of Manchester, Mass.; brother, David and his wife, Donna, and their children, Andrew and Rebecca, and her son, Karson of Austin, Texas; sister, Linda Kiefer of Marblehead; and devoted life partner, Marion Robb Ward of Chelsea and Beverly Farms.

ARRANGEMENTS: Burial will be private. A Celebration of His Life will be held on January 19, at 2 p.m., at the Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers, Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be offeredt a
