Beverly Farms — Bridget A. “Betty” (Sutera) Acciavatti 75, beloved wife of Z. James Acciavatti, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 21, 2013.
Born in the North End of Boston, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Frances (Gilardi) Sutera. She was raised in Gloucester and received her education in the Gloucester School System.
Mrs. Acciavatti had been employed for over 30 years at Gordon College in Wenham, until the time of her retirement.
Betty’s greatest love was her family. She cherished her weekly Sunday visits, family vacations, especially visits to the White Mountains in New Hampshire and Sebago Lake in Maine. She enjoyed attending sporting events and recitals of each of her grandchildren, and looked forward to her many trips to Foxwoods and Atlantic City with her husband. Betty was also an accomplished cake decorator, and enjoyed drawing, as well as playing the piano and organ.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children, Lisa Zarella and her husband, Joseph, of Peabody, James Acciavatti and his wife, Laura, of Beverly, Linda Morin and her husband, Christopher, of Danvers, and Peter Acciavatti and his wife, Khara, of Beverly; eight grandchildren, Kristen Zarella, Kyle, Olivia and Ryan Acciavatti, Erica, Celina, and Elaina Morin, and Domenic Acciavatti; a brother, Leonard Sutera and his wife, Jean, of Gloucester; a sister-in-law, Judi Sutera of Gloucester; a sister, Anna Newman of Gloucester; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also the sister of the late Lillian “Dolly” Sutera and Joseph “Sonny” Sutera.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret’s Church, 672 Hale Street, Beverly Farms, on Friday, December 27, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visiting hour will be held at the Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Friday, from 9 to 10 a.m., prior to the Mass.
