Virginia M. Foster, 93


Danvers, MA — Virginia Marie (Myrer) Foster, 93, died on December 27, 2013, in the Hunt Nursing & Rehab Center.

Born in Brockton on December 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Marie (Frenning) Myrer. She was a graduate of North Kingstown High School in Wickford, R.I., Class of 1939, and the Roger Williams Hospital School of Nursing. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

A longtime Danvers resident, she was a nursing supervisor in the medical building at the former Danvers State Hospital for more than 30 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Louise Myrer of Boston. She was predeceased by a brother, Harlow N. Myrer.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 2, at noon, in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Wadsworth Cemetery, Danvers.
