Danvers — Rita K. (Ryan) Harrington, 86, passed away on May 11, 2014, in Twin Oaks Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late James D. Harrington.
Born in Revere on August 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Caroline (Alberty) Ryan. Rita was raised and educated in Revere, and graduated from Revere High School. She was a longtime resident of Danvers, and a communicant of Saint Richard Parish. Rita had been employed at Dydax Catalog Co. in Rowley and the former Suburban Quality Co. in Danvers Square. She was also very active within the Democratic Party.
She is survived by her four children, Susan Quigley and her husband, Thomas, of Ogunquit, Maine, Lucinda Hutchinson of Danvers, Andrea Mamrose and her husband, David, of Moon Township, Pa., and Michael Harrington of East Wakefield, N.H.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, Richard Ryan, Claire Ryan and Bernice McLeavey.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, May 14, in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Tuesday, from 3 to 6 p.m., at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
